Q: Does the Razberi SSIQ L2 managed switch support VLAN’s? If so, can client workstations sharing the same VLAN as the cameras communicate with the VMS and how?
A: Yes, Razberi SSIQ’s support VLAN’s with a maximum VLAN ID of 4094. Typical designs using Razberi ServerSwitchIQ to run video management systems (VMS) utilize the U2 interface for client access to the VMS and the U1 interface for camera access to the VMS. In fact, both U1 and U2 interfaces allow communications with the VMS platform. Thus, workstations on the same VLAN as the camera network can authenticate with the VMS through the U1 interface (see diagram below).
